Tempura

 Tempura was first introduced within Japan by the Portuguese.  Today Tempura is a very popular in Japan as well as one of the most well known types of Japanese foods outside of Japan.  This dish consists of battering prawns, fish, squid, and or vegetables and deep frying them.  It is usually served with a complimenting light soy sauce for dipping.
