Japanese Animation

Japanese Animation is a style of animation that originates from Japan. It has a highly sophisticated style and occupies a top position in the Japanese film industry. When it comes to describing Japaneses Animation, there are two basic terms you should know: manga and anime.

Manga

Manga is the first step in Japanese animation. These are comics with typical Japanese characteristics and almost all of Japanese animations are derived from it. The manga industry in Japan is so big that the country itself became the worldwide leader in this business, overshadowing such big comics producers as United States and France. It is estimated that there are around 3000 professional manga artists in Japan. There are a great number of magazines in Japan devoted exclusively to manga. It is believed that the sale of manga totals  600 billion Japanese yen every year.

    Japanese manga differs considerably from other comics. It seems to be drawn in a more complicated way. Furthermore, Japanese comics have a more interesting and  a developed story line. In most cases it is aimed for adults. Japanese manga in most cases tells the story of normal people in their everyday life instead of a story of fictional heroes. The main plot is usually about good and evil, and the right decisions the main character must make.

Anime

    Anime is a style of animation that originates from Japan. This term is used to describe a Japanese cartoon that is originally derived  from manga comics. Animated films from Japan are acclaimed worldwide as the highest form of animation and include all movie genres, such as science fiction, adventure or romance. They are supported by all media in the country including television, video and cinema.
